Conveyancing is the legal process of buying, selling or transferring property from one person to another. Whether the property is a house and land or vacant land, there are certain obligations you will need to meet or carry out. Let Wise Move look after this for you.
Tasmanian Legislation was introduced in 2004 to enable Licensed Conveyancers to provide services for a fee. Previously in Tasmania, only Lawyers were permitted to carry out conveyancing; now you have the choice to use either a Licensed Conveyancer or a Lawyer to act on your behalf.
There is no relationship between the fee charged for conveyancing and the qualifications of your legal representative. At Wise Move Conveyancing we offer a very competitive fixed fee for a quality professional service. We will provide a written quote to you at the beginning of the transaction or prior to being engaged, if requested.
With Wise Move, you will receive a full and complete conveyancing service from pre-contract (if requested) through to settlement. We believe that you will receive great service from us, as we specialise in conveyancing matters and have systems in place to ensure nothing is missed out.
All Licensed Conveyancers are required by law to have professional indemnity insurance in place to maintain their License to act, in the same manner as Lawyers and Real Estate Agents. This is to protect your interests in the unlikely event that there is an issue with your transaction.
Wise Move is operated by a Licensed Conveyancer, Conveyancing Manager and a team of very experienced Conveyancing Clerks and their Assistants. Pursuant to the Conveyancing Regulations 2005, we are not permitted to provide you with legal advice, in the unlikely event that your matter becomes litigious. If we think it in your best interest to obtain the advice of a Lawyer, we will discuss this with you and refer your files if it falls outside our scope of practice.
We can communicate with you via your preferred method, phone, email, letter and SMS. You are more than welcome to come in to the office (appointments are advised) but generally there is no need to do so.
If you have not signed the contract, and wish to engage us for pre contract advice, ask your agent to send us through a copy. We will review the contract with you before you sign anything. Our fee for this service is $150.00 including GST. While pre contract advice is not compulsory, it is highly recommended.
If the contract is signed, confirm with your agent that Wise Move will be acting on your behalf, and they will forward us a copy.
We will then send you a detailed letter and instruction sheet and talk you through the process step by step, making your property conveyancing as seamless as possible.
